Matty O’Brien is the founder and head chef behind Matty’s BBQ Chop Shop, a home-based BBQ events company based in Penarth, Wales. With 20 years of cooking experience, Matty draws inspiration from his travels as a musician and his love for diverse culinary traditions. His BBQ offerings blend flavoUrs and techniques from various cultures, resulting in a unique fusion that he describes as a “Chop Shop” approach.
What started as a monthly takeaway Matty has forged his way into the fine dining world and has started a smoke and fire school that is usually booked up months in advance.
